City Charter Reform Resolution in Support of November General Elections

WHEREAS matters affecting the structural document of the City of San Diego, the City Charter, should be decided when the greatest numbers of voters are participating in the electoral process; and

WHEREAS the greatest number of voters participate in the November elections in even-numbered years;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the San Diego County Democratic Party calls upon the San Diego City Council to place before the voters of San Diego, in a November election in an even-numbered year, a Charter Reform amendment to require that all measures that would change the San Diego City Charter can only be voted on by the public in November of even-numbered years.
