Candidate Filing Open Now: Get Trained and Run for Office!

Hundreds of local offices will be on the ballot this November, filling seats on city councils, school boards, community planning boards, and other districts primarily in the North, East, and South regions of San Diego County.

We're halfway through the filing period to run for those offices -- the deadline is August 7 -- but there's still time to get your name on the ballot and get elected this year.

Please visit sddemocrats.org/run to see where Democrats are still looking for candidates. There you can learn more about the process of running and fill out a form to let us know you're interested.

If you are planning to run for office or would like to do high-level work on a campaign, the County Democratic Party invites you to our online 2020 Campaign Training Series, held at 6:00pm on every Monday between July 27th and August 24th. These training sessions will cover planning and operations, communications, fundraising, voter contact, and digital ads -- all with an eye on adapting campaigns to the COVID-19 environment.

Current and aspiring Democratic candidates and campaign staffers are welcome to join any or all of the sessions. To register, go to sddemocrats.org/training
