The California Democratic Party finalized endorsements for the March 2020 Primary Election at its convention Nov. 15-17 in Long Beach, covering races for Congress, State Senate, State Assembly, and statewide ballot measures. CDP endorsements in those contests are adoped by the San Diego County Democratic Party.
In races where no incumbent is running, the Party has endorsed Ammar Campa-Najjar for Congressional District 50, Georgette Gómez for Congressional District 53, Elizabeth Lavertu for Assembly District 71, Karen Schwartz-Frates for Assembly District 75, and Chris Ward for Assembly District 78.
All legislative incumbents running for reelection in San Diego County were endorsed, including Congressmen Mike Levin, Juan Vargas, and Scott Peters; Senator Toni Atkins; and Assemblymembers Tasha Boerner Horvath, Brian Maienschien, Shirley Weber, and Lorena Gonzalez.
