How to Run for a County Party Leadership Seat

Most voting members of the San Diego County Democratic Party's Central Committee -- the local Party's governing body -- are directly elected by voters in each Assembly District in the Presidential Primary. The Central Committee makes endorsements for local candidates and ballot measures, passes resolutions, approves an annual budget, and conducts other business on behalf of Democrats in the county. Any registered Democrat can file to run for Central Committee in a process similar to that of running for public office. The period for filing through the County Registrar of Voters opened on November 12 and closes on December 6.
