Join the Democratic Voter Registration and Outreach Team

The San Diego County Democratic Party is hiring several full-time and part-time employees to support voter registration and outreach this year. The positions described below will be opening in late August and are expected to continue through November of 2017. •   Previous experience in canvassing and/or voter registration work preferred
​•   Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
•   Demonstrated ability to work independently and to maintain confidentiality
•   Strong communication skills and outgoing personality
•   Ability to work at least 20 hours per week on a flexible schedule that includes weekends •   Fluency in Spanish highly desirable

Voter Registration Organizer: This person is responsible for planning and conducting daily voter registration activities at public locations, street fairs, high school and college campuses, and other sites. In addition to setting up events and registering voters, duties will include volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination. Travel to locations throughout the county will be required.

Neighborhood Outreach Organizer: This person will support and expand a countywide operation for volunteers to canvass door-to-door. Duties include volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination, as well as generating voter lists and updating voter and volunteer data. The position is based out of the Party’s office in Kearny Mesa, but occasional travel throughout the county will be required.

Program Coordinator: Both the registration and outreach components of the Party’s voter engagement program will be led by the Program Coordinator, who will develop and implement an overall plan, supervise the Organizers, manage data, track expenses, and produce progress reports. The position is based out of the Party’s office in Kearny Mesa, but occasional travel throughout the county will be required, including some time in the field helping with registration and outreach activities.
