Half-way through the year, San Diego County Democrats continue to be well-positioned heading into the 2020 elections with a strong voter registration trends.
Since the November 2018 elections, Democrats have gained 21,531 new registrations which has led to El Cajon, Escondido, and San Marcos flipping to Democratic-pluralities for the first time. Out of the 18 cities throughout San Diego County, 14 now have majority or plurality registrations in favor of Democrats.
As of July 1st, there are 656,393 registered Democrats in San Diego County -- a 9-point lead in registration over Trump's Republican Party, who have fallen to 3rd party status behind No Party Preference voters.
